ABOUT

welcome, friend.

let me take a moment to be really intentional with you.

you are here for a reason.

I know that might sound cliché, but it really isn’t. I believe that every single person that stumbles across this blog, no matter where you’re located, is here for a reason.

I believe that God is leaning close right now. He wants to hear from you, and He wants you to hear from Him.

a little about me

Like I said before, thank you so much for stopping by my little corner of the web! My name is Michelle and I am a full-time Electrical Engineer, Certified Aromatherapist, and mom of one.

I’m from a suburban town in Columbus, Ohio and used to love living in the middle of the hustle and bustle of a big city. I loved how close and convenient everything was, but that ended up not being the best thing for me!

I am married to the most incredible man in the world, we have one daughter, a super fluffy, happy go-lucky pup, and we live out in the middle of nowhere Ohio.

Some of my favorite things to do are honestly spending time with family and relaxing on our property. We own three acres in the middle of the woods, on a dirt road, next to the Amish. And let me tell you, it really does feel like we are on vacation every single day.

how I got into writing

My story of getting into writing is honestly long and complicated. So, to spare you of the extended and drawn-out version, I’ll just cut to the chase.

I first started writing when I entered college, but I was only doing it to get attention. When I went to school, it was super popular to have a blog, but because I wasn’t popular myself, no one ever read it. Henceforth, I shut down my blog and didn’t write for the next five years.

I ended up moving to Florida to pursue what I thought was my dream job (news flash: it wasn’t!). While I was there, I started my blog back up and named it Mochas & Miracles, as you all have been following along for the past three years and more. During this time, I was contacted by an online women’s magazine called Ezer Magazine. I began writing for them and was published five times in their online journal!

From there it snowballed into multiple different writing opportunities, being featured as a guest writer in communities and blogs. In 2019 was when I hit the jackpot!

In 2019 I was connected with an international Christian women’s magazine called Authentic Magazine. I began writing for them and to date have been published over ten times in their online publication! In December 2019 I was awarded a spot as one of their featured writers in their Issue 05 print magazine and I have been writing for them on and off ever since.

my vision for this space

With everything that’s been going on in the world the past couple years, everything on the internet and social platform has become about performing and promoting.

I don’t know about you, but it’s quite frankly gotten exhausting. I own a small business on the side, but the amount of promotion material I consume each and every day from other small businesses has been driving me crazy. Some brands sneak in a little Jesus here and there to appeal to more people, and I can see straight through the crap.

When this blog was still titled Mochas & Miracles, I realized I was making the blog more about myself and my own personal experiences than I was actually speaking the true Word of God. It was all about praising God’s miracles, but I found that it quickly turned into my own show, instead of putting God on the real pedestal.

That’s when I decided officially on September 3rd, 2021 that I would rebrand this blog to what I really wanted it to be about in the first place: helping you grow your mustard seed-like faith in your everyday life. So, I rebranded, chose a new URL, and started over.

This space is all about Jesus. It’s all about community. It’s all about real life, real struggles, and real faith. I wanted to create a space where we as broken people can unashamedly come to the foot of the cross. Jesus really does say that a mustard seed of faith can move mountains. But let me ask you this friends:

do you really believe that?

Let’s grow that mustard seed-like faith together. We were meant to be in community.

You are here for a reason. And you are welcome here.
